Day
1 : Delhi - Srinagar
Upon arrival, transfer to deluxe houseboat.
Late Afternoon: Shikara ride on Dal Lake,
including visits to floating and vegetable
gardens, etc. and demonstrations of walnut
woodcarving and papier machie making.

Day 2 : Srinagar
Morning: Sightseeing of Mughal Gardens,
including visits to Nishat Bagh (Abode of
Pleasure) built by Asif Khan, brother-in-law
of Jehangir in 1632 AD, and Shalimar Bagh
(Abode of Love) built by Jehangir for his
wife Empress Noor Jehan. All of the gardens
are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with
the Zabarwan Mountains in the background.
Enroute visit to carpet-weaving factory.

Day 3 : Srinagar -
Sonamarg (83 km, 2 ½ hrs.)
Full day excursion to Sonamarg (Golden
Meadow) by Tata Sumo with picnic lunch.
Sonamarg lies in the Sindh Valley, a
picturesque area filled with flowers and
surrounded by mountains. Sonamarg is also
the starting point for some interesting
treks to the high altitudes of the Himalayan
Lakes. Enjoy horseback riding to the Thajwas
Glacier and sled riding.
Late afternoon: Drive back to Srinagar.

Day
4 : Srinagar - Pahalgam (96 km, 3 hrs.)
Morning: Drive through the countryside
panorama of rice fields and pine forests to
Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds) with en route
visit to saffron fields and the Awantipura
ruins (1100 year- old temple of Lord Vishnu
built by King Awantiwareman). Arrival in
Pahalgam; transfer to hotel.

Day 5 : Pahalgam
Free for activities of your choice, such as
visits to Chandanwari or Aru on ponies.
(Overnight:hotel in Pahalgam).
Day 6 : Pahalgam - Srinagar – Gulmarg (160
km, 4 ½ hrs.)
Morning:
Drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730
Mts. above sea level. Gulmarg is home to one
of the greatest ski slopes in the world, as
well as the highest 18-hole golf course of
the world. The fascinating scenery en route
from Tangmarg to Gulmarg includes a view of
Nanga Parbhat (weather permitting). Other
activity options include trekking up to
Khilangmarg, which can be covered in about 3
hrs., sled-riding or taking a chair
lift-ride up the mountain.
Day 7 : Gulmarg -
Srinagar (60 km, 2 hrs.)
Morning: free for activities of your choice.
Afternoon: drive back to Srinagar. Upon
arrival in Srinagar, transfer to deluxe
Houseboat/Hotel.
Day 8 : Srinagar -
Jammu - Delhi
Early Morning: Transfer to Bus Stand/Airport |
